Now is the time to erect a Holocaust monument in Canada’s national capital to commemorate the millions of lives taken during this darkest moment in modern history.
Whether Jew, Roma (Gypsy), a member of the rainbow community (GLBTQ), physically or mentally disabled, or a politically opposed to the Nazi regime, the voices of those who can speak no more must still be heard. Each of us bears the responsibility to ensure that the memory of this tragedy is not lost through time. History forgotten is history bound to repeat itself. This is a monument to recognize the past, ensuring that we understand the path to the future.
This is not the mission of a few and this monument will not be built without broad based support from all Canadians. We are appealing to you to provide us with your name, city, and province, so that all can see that Canadians from coast, to coast to coast believe that now is the time to clearly state that all of Canada is ready to endorse the building of a National Holocaust memorial.
