Board of Directors
Jer's Vision's Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who serve as the main operating body of the organization. They are responsible for managing programs, services, fundraising, and events. The board's members include:
Calla Barnett
Calla Barnett is a recent graduate of the University of Ottawa. She currently
works as an executive assistant for the Foundation for the Study of Processes
of Government in Canada, a youth leadership charity. Calla also maintains
a translation business of her own. In the past, she has been involved
with a variety of advocacy and fundraising initiatives. She hopes to go
abroad to help with human rights issues in developing countries..
Anita Dolman
Anita Dolman is an Ottawa-based writer, editor and poet with a B.A. in
Anthropology and more than seven years of communications experience. She
was the founding managing editor of Poetics.ca and is the author of the
chapbook Scalpel, tea and shot glass (Ottawa: above/ground press, 2004).
Her poetry and short fiction have been published in various journals and
magazines throughout North America, and she is currently working on her
first full-length manuscript of poetry.
Stephanie Gray
Stephanie Gray is a recent graduate of the Film Studies program at Carleton
University, where she also took studies in French and Psychology. She
has volunteered in diverse environments, and her past experiences have
included canvassing for the Ontario March of Dimes, fostering animals
for the Dryden Humane Society, and assisting with the daily functions
of Fairbairn House Inc. in Ottawa. She is also the designer and maintainer
of jersvision.org. Although she is currently employed as a web developer,
her true passion is community work and her goal is to become a police
officer.
Jean-Frédéric Hübsch
Jean-Frédéric (J-F) Hübsch is a professional translator
with an affinity for social justice issues. He holds an Honours B.A. in
Translation and English Literature and a M.A. in Translation, both from
the University of Ottawa. As an employee of the Government of Canada,
he ensures the promotion of national labour market development and employment
accessibility to official language minority communities through the Job
Bank Translation project at Service Canada. While a student at the University
of Ottawa, J-F committed himself to fighting for the best interest of
students as Vice President of Finance of the Students’ Association
of the Faculty of Arts, as well as a member of the Faculty of Arts Undergraduate
Studies Committee and the University of Ottawa Senate Committee for the
Study of Individual Cases. He feels proud and privileged to be working
with CYDI/Jer’s Vision.
Erin Lux
Erin Lux is an office worker in downtown Ottawa. Interested in political,
environmental, and human rights issues from a young age, Erin spends most
of her free time scouring the news. An enjoyer of travel, Erin has spent
time in several states and a year in Scotland, all of which has helped
her develop an understanding of world issues and human rights struggles.
Amy Oakley
Amy Oakley grew up in Pembroke and has been living in Ottawa since August
2002. She has a two year diploma from the Tourism and Travel program at
Algonquin College and has volunteered for several different festivals
and events. She enjoys writing in many forms and aspires to travel overseas
in the future.
