Jer's Pink Tulip Grants
Jer's Pink Tulip Grants are Canada's first grants for schools running diversity, human rights, anti-bullying and anti-discrimination events in their school. The grant is presented with the generous support of the Embassy of the Netherlands, and in collaboration with Jer's Vision. The goal of the program is to empower youth making positive changes in their community; we empower youth by providing financial support for their initiatives or events that promote diversity and end discrimination, with addition consideration being given to initiatives related to the LGBTQ communities.
About the Grant
Please note that the first round of grants have closed, and applicats will be notified of their application on October 25th, 2011.
The second round of applications is now open. This fund will accept up to 10 projects of between 100-250$ taking place between Februray 2012 and June 2012.
We invite all schools & school clubs (schools and CÉGEP) running diversity events or programs in their schools to apply for one of our ten $250 grants. Initiatives can include any for of activity that promotes diversity and ends discrimination, including: conferences, workshops, assemblies, art activities, performances, spirit days, cultural activities...
Successful applicants will have the grant awarded in two parts. The first $125 will be awarded prior to the initiative (event or activity), and the second $125 after the initiative & after an evaluation report is completed.
Deadline & Evaluation
Grant application will be reviewed by a committee formed of youth team members at Jer's Vision. The committee will support ten grants with initiatives taking place between Feb 2012 and June 2012. The committee will also be giving special consideration for activities that work to address homophobia & transphobia.
The deadline for the grant is January 15, 2012 at noon (EST). Successful recipients will be notified by 5pm (EST) on January 20, 2012.

Please note that the application form is hosted on the Day of Pink website. The Day of Pink, April 11, 2012 is a day where people come to school or work in pink to stop bullying; last year 7.2 million people participated worldwide!
