Dare to Stand Out is a series of national conferences, brought to you by Jer’s Vision, that work with youth to address issues surrounding homophobia and transphobia in their schools and communities.

Dare to Stand Out: Ottawa will be taking place March 3rd at Lisgar High School, beginning at 8:30am. We invite youth from Ottawa, and surrounding areas, to join us for a day of addressing discrimination and promoting diversity! Youth will participate in unique activities, incredible & diverse workshops and attend a keynote address from the award-winning singer, actor, dancer and performance artist Ryan G Hinds.

Workshops from Dare to Stand Out: Ottawa will include:

  • Consent and sex positivity for healthier relationships— presented by Venus Envy
  • Queer Event Planning 101—presented by Jer’s Vision
  • Staying involved after graduation—a panel of youth (queer and allies) who have stayed involved or become involved in the community after graduating from high school
  • Building a National Network—presented by our very own Jeremy Dias
  • A Keynote by Ryan G Hinds

In addition, amazing queer/trans/allied members of the community will come and give inspirational talks about their passions.
