This summer, come out and support local youth musicians at Club Saw! Jer's Vision Presents: The Summer Bands Bash! Some great performances are in store from local musical acts, such as Tall Trees, The Young Offenders, Rainbow Sound Explosion, Full Tipped Sleeve and Inultus. On top of all that, there will be unforgettable solo acts such as folk singers Suzie Pankhurst and Elspeth Urquhart and local DJ Markelius. Not sure if this sounds like your style? Local alt-rock band Tall Trees have been compared to a youthful Black Keys, and the Young Offenders to classic brit punk with front man Kurt Grunsky's vocals sounding like smashing pumpkins' own Billy Corgan. If your punk days are over or never quite began, Suzy Pankhurst may be just what you're looking for, with her sweet vocal stylings that may remind you of Regina Spektor and Norah Jones. No matter what your musical preference, there's a local band in the line up for you.
The event, of course, if much more than a concert. This event marks the first charitable event planned entirely for youth by youth! Our fabulous planning duo: Zoe Easton and Hannah Collins have been hard at work trying to navigate the complicated and high stress world of event planning and promotions. Graphic poster designs by local artist Brien Watson have been posted all across the city by the fab femme duo, as well as social media networking and word of mouth promotions from the bands themselves. All the proceeds of this concert are going towards more awesome events from Jer's Vision, but the team agreed that their biggest goal and reward was knowing that they were reaching out to so many youth in Ottawa and spreading the word about such an awesome cause.
